Artis announces $30 million DOTC contract vehicle
Herndon, VA – Artis, a global leader in active protection systems, announced today that it has been awarded a new contract vehicle valued up to $30,030,000 by the DoD Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) to provide prototypes for a new compact active protection system.
“This opportunity will help inform military leaders on new ways to defeat threats to our troops on the battlefield,” said company president Keith Brendley. “The employees at Artis are proud of the opportunity to develop new, life-saving capabilities for warfighters deployed around the world,” he said.
Artis is a world leader in designing close-in active protection systems which defeat threats with minimal risk of collateral damage to dismounted troops and civilians. In addition, Artis’ use of multiple, advanced sensors essentially eliminates the risk of false alarms.
Brendley said the new prototypes will be built to be compliant with the Army’s Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) protocols, which is designed to standardize electronic survivability systems.
DOTC is sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of Defense and is utilized by all services and DoD agencies to design, develop and demonstrate prototypes for armaments.
