You will support the design and manufacture of cutting edge electronics for the Department of Defense, working with a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers. Our projects include electronic and opto-electronic systems for high-speed threat detection, such RADAR, LiDAR, and passive IR, as well as support systems involving custom Inertial Navigation, advanced GPS and various experimental technologies being developed at Artis. For example, working in our team, you may get an opportunity to: sense an incoming rocket propelled grenade, react to a buried explosive blast, detect small arms fire, or safely interface with electronic fuzes to help defeat those threats.

Experience:

Typically, our electrical engineers oversee their design all the way from concept development to manufacturing and system deployment. We need efficient and experienced PCB designers who perform well at both rapid prototyping as well as production-level designs for military fielding. Relevant work in high-speed optical sensors, is desired. This may include avalanche photo-diodes; high-speed, high-gain analog signal conditioning; pico-second resolution timing circuits; and high-power LED, Laser, and Fiber-laser emitters. Other projects may include custom digital processor boards with the latest FPGAs, micro-controllers, and high-speed digital interfaces such as LVDS and Gigabit Ethernet. Some example circuits might be: high-speed A/D’s, power systems, and data-acquisitions systems. We use Altium for PCB layout, and would prefer engineers with experience in that CAD package, but OTJ training will be provided. Field testing at government test sites is also an exciting part of the job, so some travel is required.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Masters Degree or equivalent experience desired. Laboratory experience in optical sensing techniques is desired.

Clearance:

An active security clearance or ability to be cleared is required.

Job Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of related experience desired.

  • Analysis of high-speed analog circuits using SPICE simulations.
  • Experience with Matlab for performance analysis
  • Schematic capture and PCB design using ECAD software (Altium desired).
  • Use of meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other electronics test equipment.
  • Parts database management using ECAD software.
